DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project consists of the furnishing and installation of all equipment, labor, and materials for the sanitary sewer construction including relevant residential sewage collection systems, pump stations and mainline connections in Center Township, Lake County, IN. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form and must be accompanied by an Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, signed copies of Addenda (if issued), and satisfactory bid security, as set forth in the Project Documents. A certified or cashiers check payable to the Lake County Board of Commissioners or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. Bid security may be retained by the Board for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) days for all bidders and not to exceed sixty (60) days for the Bidder given tentative award of Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to provide separate Performance and Labor and Material Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract amount. The Lake County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so. Employment - The contractor shall have a goal of Thirty-Four (34%) Percent of minority wrork force participation (as a percentage ofthe total number of employees or the total number of hours worked on the project, whichever is greater) and 6.9% for work force participation by women (as a percentage of the total number of employees or the total number of hours worked on the project, whichever is greater), ifavailable. Subcontractors and Suppliers-AgoalofThirteen (13%) PercentforMBE participation and Two (2%) Percent for WBE participation (as a percentage of the total contract amount) is hereby set for the project. The work to be done under this Contract consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services and the performance of all work incidental thereto for the construction of the facilities shown and specified in the Project Documents. Locations of the project and descriptions of the work to be done under the contract as well as the specific provisions required for the contract is given later in this Section 00827.
