The City of Dunwoody is initiating a citywide project to replace existing ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant handicap ramps that are damaged, deteriorated, or no longer meet current accessibility standards. This project aims to ensure safe and accessible pedestrian routes throughout the City, particularly at sidewalk intersections and key pedestrian corridors. Construction activities will include but are not limited to: traffic control; removal and disposal of damaged sidewalk, curb, and gutter; forming, placing, and finishing of concrete; protection of completed work from vandalism or damage; and final site clean-up/restoration. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and labor to complete the required construction as described in its entirety to the specifications as directed and the terms of this contract including all incidentals as directed by the City of Dunwoody Director of Public Works or his representative. The locations for the ADA Handicap Ramps Replacements are identified below in two categories: o Category #1 - ADA Ramp Replacement (full): All ADA Handicap Ramp Replacements with Detectable Warning Surfaces (truncated domes) will be installed per GDOT Detail number A3 - Special Detail Concrete Sidewalk Detail Cut (Wheelchair) Ramps. o Category #2 - Detectable Warning Strip Replacement (Only): Surfacemounted Detectable Warning Surfaces (truncated domes) are to be installed according to the manufacturer's recommendation. All unit prices shall be inclusive of all costs necessary to complete the work, including labor, materials, equipment, tools, traffic control, disposal, hauling, and mobilization. Where no pay item is given, work to be paid for under other items. Work will be performed at various locations throughout the City of Dunwoody, as directed by the City. Work is anticipated to begin during the 3rd Quarter of 2025. The contractor and the City will conduct one (1) pre-construction meeting after award of the contract. The contractor and the City will discuss the terms of the contract as well as the schedule for the Work. Following the Pre-Con, the schedule terms will be documented in the Minutes and will be the Work Plan by which the contractor must complete the Work.
