Reference Number 0000394939 Bid Intent Not Available The City of Battle Creek will accept sealed bids for the Grinding and Removal of Woody Debris- Brice Pit project. This project consists of the grinding and removal of woody debris from our compost facility located at 715 W River Road. This debris is primarily from the tornado that impacted the City of Battle Creek in mid-May of 2025. The debris may include, but is not limited to, brush, branches, limbs (with and without leaves), along with partial tree trunks. The debris should be considered primarily green, but the condition may vary, and is from a variety of species. The contractor can use whatever means they wish (excluding burning) including grinding, chipping, hauling, etc. BID BOND: Each bid must be accompanied by a standard form bid bond, made payable to the City of Battle Creek, in an amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the base bid submitted. Failure of any accepted bidder to enter into a contract for the work will cause forfeit of the bid security. We do not accept certified checks in lieu of bid bond. PERFORMANCE/LABOR/MATERIALS BONDS: The accepted bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor/materials payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract and insurance certificate upon forms acceptable to the City.
