The West Des Moines 2025 DIGITAL ENTERPRISE NETWORK EXPANSION project includes the installation of a multi-user fiber optic conduit network within public right-of-way and easements to support the connection of every residence and business in the City. The contractor will supply and install all vaults, conduit, tracer wire, test stations and other ancillary items required for a complete and functional conduit network for the future installation of fiber optic cables by internet service providers. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally, the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of eighteen (18) months from the time of acceptance by the City.
