A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Our patient care mission encompasses serving as an accessible, high quality, safety focused, comprehensive care provider for all the people of Bernalillo County, and providing specialized services for people across the State. Our education mission focuses on creating a patient care environment, which is supportive of the educational programs of the UNMHSC health professional schools. Our research mission focuses on the application of new biomedical knowledge, translated to innovative patient care programs and models of health care delivery, leading to health status improvement for New Mexicans. The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) is soliciting proposals from General Contractors to provide construction services for all materials and services required to fulfill the scope of work for renovations at UNM Hospital Main located. The purchase of materials and/or services awarded under this Request will be subject to the Terms and Conditions as well as all statements contained in this Request for Proposal. New Mexico criminal law prohibits bribes, gratuities and kickbacks (13-1-28 through 13-1-199, NMSA 1978). UNMH views utilization of local vendors, suppliers and contractors as good sustainable practice. As such, UNMH strongly encourages offerers to solicit and consider local New Mexico Business community members in preparing proposal offers. The Scope of Work is renovation of the UH-Main Hospital Operating Rooms (ORs) located on the second floor at the Lomas Campus in accordance with contract documents for a fully operational space to serve its intended purpose. The current operating rooms will be relocated to the Critical Care Tower in October 2025 and allow for renovation of 16 antiquated and undersized ORs into 10 state of the art OR rooms. This will include 25 pre/post op beds, patient intake/waiting room area, and staff support spaces as required to support non-urgent inpatient and outpatient elective surgeries. This scope includes demolition of existing space down to structure, with the concrete slab reinforced from below by installation of steel channels on the middle 10 feet of the concrete joist span promoting use of programmed medical equipment to support surgical cases. The renovation includes all elements and systems to create a state of the art OR for its intended purpose with built-in redundancies for reliable operation that meet all current code requirements followed by our Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Project must meet all current code requirements including the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), Department of Health (DOH), The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare / Medicaid Services (CMS). Project shall meet USGBC LEED(R) Silver Certification minimum. Pre bid meeting Description: The conference will provide proposers an opportunity to discuss the projects and RFP requirements with UNMH. Potential proposers are encouraged to submit written questions in advance of the conference. The identity of the organization submitting the question(s) will not be revealed. Additional written and oral questions may be submitted at the conference. All questions will be addressed at the conference. A public log will be kept of the names of potential proposers that attended the pre-proposal conference. A guided site visit will be provided after the conference. Project 1: CIP 3219 - UH-Main OR Backfill Maximum Allowable Construction Cost (MACC): $28,200,000 Project 2: CIP 3242 - UH-Main - Radiology Backfill Enabling Project - Phase 2 Maximum Allowable Construction Cost (MACC): $3,600,000 Project 3: CIP 3231 - Fluoroscopy #1 - Equipment Replacement Maximum Allowable Construction Cost (MACC): $375,000 Project 4: CIP 3226 - Orthopaedic Clinic - Interior Upgrades Maximum Allowable Construction Cost (MACC): $200,000 Question Submission Close Date 9/5/2025 5:00 PM MDT All questions to be submitted in writing through online.
