Site work and paving for a civil project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The general work requested is: Construction of, Variable Thickness Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, Variable Thickness Concrete Base, 6" and 8" Concrete Base, 8" Concrete Pavement, 8" High Early Strength Colored Concrete, 7" and 8" Concrete Driveways, Concrete Curb and Gutter, 5" Concrete Walks, Pavement Grinding, Repair Pavement Joints and Cracks, Sealing Pavement Joints and Cracks, Variours Traffic Signage Assembly and Installation, Gravel Filling, Concrete Removals, Various Pavement Markings, Sewer Work, Water Work, Tree Clearing & Grubbing, Etc.; Located at: ST211220233 - In West Adler Street - South Hawley Road to South 68th Street All work on the intersections of West Adler Street and South 60th Street, South 61st Street, and South 64th Street must be completed by October 10, 2025. All other work on this contract shall be completed by October 31, 2025. Liquidated Damages, per diem: $1000.00/Day The bidder's commitment for SBE participation on this project is 25 % Bid Security Required: Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Cash to accompany bid: 10% of the Contractor's Base Bid. . The contractor must coordinate the schedule and all activities with the project engineer and the Milwaukee Public Schools liaison, Mr. Mark Bethel, at 414-659-3857 or bethelmd@milwaukee.k12.wi.us Pavement milling will be the full width of the roadway, with the construction of butt joints at the project limits and intersections. Intersection butt joints will be field marked, and should be assumed to extend to the end of radius on all adjoining streets. The depth of pavement milling shall be variable to level pavement irregularities, but generally two (2") deep with two (2") deep butt joints. On existing concrete pavement, milling will be generally limited to the construction of intersection butt joints, six (6') feet wide at the flange line with two (2") inches deep butt joints and at the flange line. The Contractor shall mill around all existing underground facilities, including but not limited to manhole frames, catch basin or inlet frames, service boxes, etc. for both City of Milwaukee and private utility structures. Any damage to existing facilities due to milling or paving operation shall be the responsibility of the contractor. All milled intersection butt joints and any necessary manhole adjustments shall be shimmed overnight and be removed the day of the paving. The cost of shimming shall be included in the unit bid price for variable thickness asphalt concrete pavement.
