he accepted bid will be awarded by Borough Council at a subsequent public council meeting. The Borough of Quakertown reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any cause whatsoever, to eliminate any item or items from the contract, to waive any informality or irregularity in the bids, and exercise its judgment as to the comparative merit of the products and services offered. Award of the contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bids may be held by the Borough for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. Quakertown Borough does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Each bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall include a bid bond, bank money order, or certified check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount payable to Quakertown Borough. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond (in the amount of $100,000.00) from a surety approved by the Borough. In addition, proof of previous experience with this type of work will be required.
