The project consists of removal of existing improvements, grading, widening the existing asphalt trail, constructing new concrete and asphalt trail sections, installing an asphalt leveling course, installing an asphalt overlay, installation of new storm sewer piping, site restoration and other related construction items as stated in the Specifications All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the City Engineer, Jake Garrard, P.E. (mgarrard@cityofcapegirardeau.org) by September 5, 2025 at noon A certified or cashier's check, or bid bond executed by the bidder and an approved Surety Company, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid shall be submitted with each Proposal. The sample Bid Bond Form included in the Proposal Documents may be utilized, or another form providing all information indicated on the document in the bid proposal package may be utilized. Bidder must be pre-qualified by MoDOT in accordance with Sec 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. The prime contractor must perform, with its own staff, contract work amounting to NOT less than 30% of the total original contract price. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
