Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Hickory, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

City of Hickory is conducting a qualification based selection process to retain a proponent for professional architectural services for the renovation and expansion of the City of Hickory Public Services Complex. The City of Hickory invites interested firms/teams to submit a written Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) relating to this solicitation. Proponents are invited to review the information and to submit their SOQ in accordance with the criteria established within this RFQ. A Project Screening Committee will evaluate firms'/teams' qualifications and experience with similar projects. The City will rank the submittals and create a short list of firms/teams to interview before selecting the best qualified firm/team. The firms/teams determined to be best qualified through review of the submitted SOQs will be invited to interview with a project committee and the firm/team being most qualified will be selected for negotiations to complete the project. Should negotiations become unsuccessful, the second ranked firm/team will be invited to enter negotiations. The City of Hickory is soliciting RFQ's for architectural services for assessment, planning, and design of a renovation and expansion of the City of Hickory's Public Services Complex. The City desires to have a design professional evaluate the building and determine the best long term design for services. The project is on four parcels of land, each exceeding 1 acre, owned by the City of Hickory, said parcels are identified as PIN: 371314439154, 371314420900, 371314426523, and 371314429468. Sixteen additional parcels, each less than 1 acre, owned by the City of Hickory also adjoin the main four parcels. The Complex will need to include space for all existing Public Services Divisions with room for growth, and additional space for the relocation of the Engineering Department from City Hall. Written questions regarding this RFQ must be received by July 29, 2025, no later than 12:00 PM. Email questions are acceptable but must contain the wording "Public Services Complex Expansion & Facility Upgrades RFQ Question" in the subject line. All submittals must be received by the deadline specified herein. Any submittals received after the due date and time specified will not be considered. The City of Hickory reserves the right to reject any or all submittals, or to withhold awarding a contract for any reason it may determine, and to waive or not to waive any informalities in any submittal. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
