Renovation of a mixed-use development in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Renovations across the Seattle campus parking lots will upgrade external security to enhance safety for veterans and staff. The work includes architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical revisions to site infrastructure and exterior security systems, along with the extension and connection of all required utilities from surrounding areas and adjacent buildings. Coordination with the COR and site IT and security personnel is required to ensure proper integration of all systems. Work involves electrical activities such as removing and installing conduit; telecommunications tasks that include running new communications wiring with confined space requirements; and security improvements centered on installing a new Blue Light System and updated signage. Modifications to walkways and roadways include demolition of existing areas and repaving. Security system requirements are defined in the Basis of Design Specification. New finishes must match existing finishes and color schemes throughout the parking lots and campus grounds unless otherwise noted, and all construction submittals involving architectural features must be reviewed by VA interior design.
