Demolition, site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Seattle, Washington. Working plans call for the addition of a 9,645-square-foot medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; for the construction of a medical facility; for the renovation of a 13,831-square-foot medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
As of March 31, 2026, a design-build team has been selected. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* A good project governance structure is critical for making defensible and timely decisions that allow the project to move forward expeditiously. In a complicated organization like a university, this requires a variety of perspectives to ensure the best interest of the University are being served. An appropriate governance structure should balance the potential opportunity any new project represents with the long-term goals and realities of the institution. The governance structure is developed at the very beginning of the project and remains in place throughout the project. It is the project manager's responsibility to reinforce its role enabling the project to move forward. The governance structure includes the following individuals andentities. UW Facilities, Project Delivery Group, will be issuing a RFQ in early September. UW Facilities, Project Delivery Group, will be issuing a RFQ an early September for the purpose of selecting a Design-Builder to provide progressive design build services for the design and construction of 4 new operating rooms at the UW Medical Center NW Outpatient Medical Center (OPMC) Desired qualifications of the Desired qualifications of the Design-Build team include a builder and an architect/designer with experience in renovating hospital spaces within an operating facility and extensive under-standing of Department of Health design guidelines and City building codes. Shortlist Confirmed This project renovates approximately 13,831 SF of an existing Outpatient Surgery Center and expands 9,645 SF. Scope includes adding new Operating rooms. Expanding and remodeling the PACU bays to support the new ORs and to make existing space code compliant. Expand central processing and decontamination spaces Update support areas including storage, medical ga, generator, and mechanical systems The project budget is $41 million. The target budget for all work to be provided under the design-build contract is $31 million.
