Project Scope: The City of Sturgeon is requesting bids for the construction of a new entrance and access drive at Mount Horeb Cemetery. The work includes excavation, base preparation with drainage considerations, geotextile reinforcement, and rock surfacing. Project Location & Description: Mount Horeb Cemetery New Entrance Drive Length: Approximately 1,000 linear feet Width: Approximately 10 feet Total Area: 10,000 sq. ft. Scope of Work: o Excavate 6 inches of existing material o Install geogrid fabric to stabilize base o Construct a rock base and top surface with proper drainage Materials & Work Requirements: 1. Earthwork & Preparation: Excavate and remove 6 inches of existing soil along the full 1,000' x 10' footprint Excavated dirt will remain onsite at a designated location as directed by the City Shape subgrade to promote drainage and prepare for geogrid installation 2. Geogrid Installation: Install geogrid fabric over the entire 1,000 ft x 10 ft roadbed (10,000 sq. ft.) Geo grid is to prevent migration of rock into subgrade and provide structural reinforcement 3. Rock Base & Surface: Base Rock: o 150 tons of 2" - 3" rock for initial base layer Top Base Rock: o 150 tons of 1" clean rock for the top base and finished driving surface Additional Clean Rock for Drainage: o 1" clean rock x 300 (please confirm unit: tons or cubic feet) 4. Drainage: Contractor is responsible for ensuring proper drainage is incorporated (e.g., crowned roadbed, side ditches, or culverts as needed) to prevent erosion and ponding Contractor Requirements: Contractor must be fully licensed and insured to perform work in the State of Missouri and in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
