Site work for a civil project in Valparaiso, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Bids shall be submitted in an enclosed opaque sealed envelope, marked "Marsh Street Lift Station Project". Bids will be evaluated, and it is the intent that an award of contract be made within 60 calendar days of the bid opening. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without consent of the Owner for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the scheduled time of receiving the same. The project includes the installation of a duplex wastewater lift station, approximately 2,300 feet of 6-inch HDPE sanitary force main, appurtenances and associated restoration. Installation of pipe will be generally by horizontal directional drill. The work to be performed and the bids submitted, including any and all separate and combination bids, shall include sufficient and proper sums for all General, Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Installation, Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, Taxes (both Federal and State), Permits, Licenses, Insurance, Service Costs, and so forth, incidental to and require for the construction of the facilities. Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the Contract for which a bid is submitted. Work of the Project: Install new force main, lift station, and associated appurtenances. A certified or cashier's check payable to Valparaiso City Utilities or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them by the City upon selection of successful bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96 and confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), and satisfactory bid security. Each bidder shall show experience of the construction of wastewater facilities and must be qualified by either the state certification board or the Indiana Department of Transportation. In determining the lowest responsible bidder, the Owner will consider all possible bid combinations for the project. The Owner may also consider all other relevant facts mentioned in the Project Documents or which the Owner may legally consider. The Utility Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the Board deem it to be in the public interest to do so.
