Reference Number 0000395935 The North Campus Radial Collector Well 02 Project (RCW 02 Project) will expand the City of Aurora's (City) North Campus Well Field (Well Field) water supply facilities to continue to build on existing water rights utilized along the South Platte River. The City's existing Well Field is located along the bank of the South Platte River approximately midway between Brighton and Fort Lupton. The RCW 02 Project is located along the east bank of the South Platte River just south of Weld County Road 8. The Project is anticipated to bid in late September 2025 with contract award in October of 2025. There will be three (3) pre-qualified contractors in the RCW 02 Project with the tiered contractual arrangements identified as follows: _ General Contractor - Prime Agreement Holder with the City _ Collector Well Drilling Subcontractor - 1st Tier Subcontractor _ Trenchless Tunneling Subcontractor - 2nd Tier Subcontractor The General Contractor will manage all construction and contractual relationships with their direct subcontractors including the Well Drilling Subcontractor. 1st Tier Subcontractors will manage construction and contractual relationships with 2nd Tier Subcontractors. The Collector Well Drilling Subcontractor and their 2nd Tier Subcontractor will construct the central 20-foot diameter concrete caisson. The caisson will be constructed from ground surface to bedrock with a concrete floor, creating a watertight pump station wet well. A total of ten (10) horizontal screened laterals will be drilled radially from the bottom of the central caisson well shaft. For the purpose of this solicitation, the work to be performed by the Prime General Contractor under the NCHWP consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, supplies, and everything else necessary to create site improvements, lay piping, construct pump housing, develop PLC/SCADA components, and performance test one (1) radial colector wel. Ultimate well yield will depend not only on hydrogeologic conditions and well development, but also on maintaining water quality goals of the project. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: Radial Collector Well RCW-01 Caisson. a. The 20-foot diameter caisson and horizontal lateral well screens shall be designed and constructed by the pre-qualified Collector Well Drilling Subcontractor. Radial Collector Well RCW-01 Pump Station: a. Pump station constructed of concrete masonry block and membrane roof will be founded on the 20-foot diameter caisson and perimeter deep foundation piers to bedrock. b. The pump station will be equipped with 3 duty and one standby 100-HP vertical turbine pumps that discharge to a common header which is conveyed to yard piping. An 8-inch surge anticipator valve will be installed on the pump discharge header and will be routed to an infiltration basin d. The main raw water discharge header will be equipped with: A magnetic flow meter. A temporary pressure sustaining globe valve. e. A standby generator will be installed on a concrete equipment pad and will include a concrete masonry screened wall enclosure. Electrical and instrumentation improvements shall be constructed as shown on the plans. Site Improvements: a. Install new gravel access roadways, fences, and gates to provide site assess as shown. b. Prepare final grade as shown to provide positive site drainage across the site. Install pump station discharge piping as shown on the plans to convey raw water from the new radial collector well, across the South Platte River, with a connection to the existing 36-inch steel pipeline near Weld County Road 8. d. Install monitoring wells as shown for groundwater sampling. e. A new power service will be provided to the site from United Power from Weld County Road 8. A new electrical transformer and meter will be installed near the Radial Collector well as shown on the plans. Health and Safety/Training Requirements: _ Contractor shall provide OSHA Construction Safety certified foreman and an "Excavation Competent" staff. The work does not include either construction of the caisson well, nor construction of the laterals. Project work will be performed at the City's North Campus Well Field in Weld County near the intersection of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 8.
