A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Reference Number 0000390932 The North Campus Radial Collector Well 02 Project (RCW 02 Project) will expand the City of Aurora's (City) North Campus Well Field (Well Field) water supply facilities to continue to build on existing water rights utilized along the South Platte River. The City's existing Well Field is located along the bank of the South Platte River approximately midway between Brighton and Fort Lupton. The RCW 02 Project is located along the east bank of the South Platte River just south of Weld County Road 8. Selecting qualified Licensed Trenchless Tunneling Subcontractors for the North Campus Radial Collector Well 02 (Project). Those Licensed Trenchless Tunneling Subcontractors selected through this solicitation will be cited in the Project's technical specifications as the sole Licensed Trenchless Tunneling Subcontractors allowed to submit pricing to the Project's Collector Well Drilling subcontractors for installation of the trenchless drilled laterals (pipelines) proposed under the Project. The Project's Collector Well Drilling subcontractors will be prequalified under a separate solicitation (anticipated posting in mid-July). The Project's prime/general contractors will be prequalified under a separate solicitation (anticipated posting in mid-July, concurrent with drillers). The Project is anticipated to bid in September 2025 with contract award in November 2025 Project work will be performed at the City's North Campus Well Field in Weld County near the intersection of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 8. The City of Aurora and its consultant reserve the right to contact any or all parties given as references to verify the information provided The Collector Well Drilling Subcontractor will construct the central 20-foot diameter concrete caisson. The caisson will be constructed from ground surface to bedrock with a concrete floor, creating a watertight pump station wet well. A total of ten (10) horizontal screened laterals will be drilled radially from the bottom of the central caisson well shaft. The Collector Well Subcontractor will construct eight (8) of the horizontal screened laterals using their conventional and proprietary drilling methods. These will be approximately 200-feet in length for a total of 1,600-lf Critical tunneling considerations include: - Operating in relatively dense cobbled areas - Portal stability at the central shaft - Face stability of the tunnel - No usage of pumping slurries or muds - Groundwater management - Soil sampling accuracy for soil gradation testing by Collector Well Subcontractor - Reception shaft installation and removal The work does not include either construction of the caisson well, nor construction of the other eight (8) laterals, nor procuring and outfitting the wells with the permanent production equipment. Project work will be performed at the City's North Campus Well Field in Weld County near the intersection of Highway 85 and Weld County Road 8.
