sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Metuchen (hereinafter the "Borough"), Middlesex County, New Jersey for the following project: METUCHEN EMERGENCY SERVICE CENTER Bids, utilizing the bid forms as prepared by the Architect, may be submitted in person, by mail, or delivery service prior to that time. To be considered, bids must be presented in fully and completely sealed envelopes which are clearly marked "Bids enclosed METUCHEN EMERGENCY SERVICE CENTER, Metuchen, New Jersey," attention to Deborah Zupan, Borough Clerk, Borough of Metuchen, 500 MainStreet, Metuchen, New Jersey 08840 and must also contain the name and address of the bidder. No bids will be received by facsimile or electronic transmission. The Project includes an Alternate for construction of a masonry outbuilding and associated site improvements. All work on this contract must be completed within 390 calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Questions will be considered only up until the inquiry deadline stated in the Instructions to Bidders.All bids must be on the bid forms provided by the Borough and Architect and downloaded from H2M Architects. All bids must be accompanied by bid security in the form of (1) a bid bond or certified or cashier's check payable to the Borough of Metuchen equal to 10% of the amount of the bid, but in no case to exceed $20,000,00 pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-21,and (2) a Certificate of Consent of Surety pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-22, obligating the issuing surety company to provide the bidder and its subcontractors, if successful, with a New Jersey Statutory Performance Bond and a New Jersey Statutory Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. The successful bidder will be required to furnish additional bonds as set forth in the bid specifications and bidding documents. The Borough reserves the right to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2 and as permitted bylaw. Additionally, the Borough reserves the right to waive immaterial informalities as permitted by law.The selected Bidder, will, within three (3) days of Borough's approval of the bid and the award of contract, enter into the form of contract contained in the bid packet with the Borough.
