The City of Rock Island is requesting bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project. This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. Contractors who are interested in this project will need to schedule a site visit with the homeowner, Jennifer Nielsen, by calling them at 217-370-2826, prior to submitting the bid. A bid tabulation shall be posted online afterward. All questions shall be directed to the Construction Officer at 309-732-2906. Plumbing o Remove all the galvanized water supply lines in the basement converting to new copper. Install new washing machine hook ups in the basement. Install shut offs to all the fixtures on the first floor. Remove screens from the fixtures upon completing the new plumbing system to flush the new lines. o Install an anti-siphon frost free silcock in the existing location using anti-frost prevention and isolated shutoff. o Install a second anti-siphon frost free silcock in the front of the house. o Replumbing the kitchen drain under the sink to code using approved materials. All plumbing is permitted work and will follow the IPC and IL. plumbing codes. Permit before work is started. Electrical o Replace Breakers in the new panel with GFCI/arc fault combination breakers. o Replace bath fan light combo. This will need to vented to the exterior of the home with\ insulated flexible duct. Permit is required before work begins. All work is to under the guidance of NEC 2017. Carpentry o Window replacement for 3 existing Pella windows. 1 Living room single double hung, 2 Bedroom single double hung units. These windows are requiring to be installed per manufacturer's instructions along with 2021 IRC. Replace any rotted wood and use selfadhesive flex tape on all sills. See attachment for the windows. Building permit required before work begins. Alternative specifications shall be considered only if they are clearly justified, cost effective, and meet all project objectives. The contractor shall have 30 days to complete the work from the date of contract signing. Change work orders over the course of the project are strongly discouraged.
