Last Day for Written Questions: Time: September 5th, 2025 by 12:00 Noon Eastern Time To cphilpott@city.waltham.ma.us. Each general bid, and each sub-bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Waltham in the amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. Bid deposits will be dealt with as provided in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M. Bids shall be made on the basis of the Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws, a copy of which is attached to and is made a part of the Contract. Bidders' selection procedures and contract award shall be in conformity with applicable statues of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Performance and Labor and Materials payment bonds in the full amount of the contract price will be required from the successful bidder. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all general bids, if it be in the public interest to do so, and to reject any sub-bid on any sub-trade if it determines that such sub-bid does not represent the sub-bid of a person competent to perform the work as specified or that less than three such sub-bids were received and that the prices are not reasonable for acceptance without further competition. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance, naming the City of Waltham as an Additional Named Insured with a waiver of subrogation, for General Liability and Vehicle Liability in the amount of $500,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 in the aggregate and Worker's Compensation Insurance as prescribed by law. In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M the undersigned certifies that all employees to be employed at the worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health appro CITY ORDINANCE. APPROVAL OF CONTRACTS BY MAYOR, SEC. 3-12 OF THE CITY ORDINANCES. All contract made by any department, board or commission where the amount involved is two thousand dollars ($2,000) or more shall be in writing, and no such contract shall be deemed to have been made or executed until the approval of the Mayor is affixed thereto. Any construction contract shall, and all other contracts may, where the contract exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) be required to be accompanied by a bond with sureties satisfactory to the Mayor. A. Substantial Completion by May 15, 2027, with Final Completion by June 30, 2027 The work under this section shall consist of field staking the horizontal and vertical alignment of all essential features and proposed work, including walls, curbs, walkways, fencing, electrical and utility structures, plantings, furnishings, play equipment, and other related features as shown on the plans, by a Massachusetts-registered Professional Engineer or Land Surveyor. The Contractor shall familiarize himself with the existing conditions and shall be responsible for locating or re-establishing survey field ties, property lines, and benchmarks indicated on the plans.
