Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in North Waltham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a 92,000-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Department of Public Works Relocation, 2025. All questions are to be addressed to the City of Waltham, via email only to: Crystal Philpott, Purchasing Agent cphilpott@city.waltham.ma.us with electronic copy to Neil Joyce, Construction Monitoring No questions, written, faxed, or emailed, will be answered after the close of business on: October 24th, 2025 12PM. Following the closure of questions, a single response will be prepared for all questions of substance received and circulated to all recipients of this RFQ. The City recently completed a space needs analysis and separate feasibility study on the proposed site and has estimated structure(s) of approximately 80,000 sq ft is required for the DPW Facility. This program sq footage will need to be reviewed and confirmed in the process. An additional 12,000 sq feet for two (2) Salt Sheds is requested. An above ground fuel station will also be required. There is an additional request for a DPW Admin Office Building to be located at the entrance of the site closer to the Waverly Oaks side of the entrance It is anticipated that future development at the Fernald site may require the removal of existing structure(s), site infrastructure and development. Further, the City has granted access to the MWRA for an independent project, which will require approximately 3 acres of land on the lower portion which will need to be coordinated in this design process. Information on the building program and feasibility study have been included for reference (See Appendix A). The location of the MWRA acreage is not accurate on the Appendix and will need to be revisited and confirmed.
