Knapp Engineering, Inc For further information, contact Chris Knapp via telephone at 203-758-3503 or by email at Chris@knappengineering.com Construction of White Bridge Waterworks Facilities including groundwater production wells, Pond Pumping Station, electrical and instrumentation upgrades, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. a. Groundwater production wells: 1) Specifications for the construction and development of gravel packed groundwater production wells and the abandonment and decommissioning of existing wells are included in Appendix A to these Contract Documents. b. Existing Conditions: 1) Data regarding the geological and geotechnical field testing conducted for the Work are included in Appendix F. The information provided is for general informational purposes only. The subsurface information presented is accurate only at the specific locations and times the subsurface explorations were made. It is the Contractor's responsibility to review the information contained within these Contract Documents and make their own interpretations and conclusions of the character of materials to be encountered and the impact on the Work based on the Contractor's expert knowledge of the area and of earthwork techniques. The Contractor, at their own expense, may conduct additional subsurface explorations for their own information after obtaining the Owner's permission. 2) Parts of the project site are located within Federal, State, and Local protected species habitat, including the Spotted Turtle (Clemmys Guttata), Wood Turtle (Glyptemys Insculpta), and Great Blue Herron. Information on requirements and construction activity limitations are included in the permits included in Appendix G. 3) Test pit excavations were performed to confirm the locations of select existing utilities on the White Bridge Waterworks Facilities site. A memorandum summarizing the test pits is included in Appendix E. Information provided in the memorandum is for general informational purposes only. 2. Demolition of existing White Bridge Waterworks Facilities including the existing Pond Pumping Station, existing Lower Wellfield Pumping Station, existing Upper Wellfield Pumping Station, existing caisson structure at the Lower wellfield, and existing production wells at the Upper and Lower Wellfields. Existing equipment to be removed from these locations may include, but is not limited to, the following a. Existing Pond Pumping Station: a. Existing Pond Pumping Station: I) Centrifugal pumps and associated motor 2) Process Piping 3) Compressor and air tanks 4) Electrical equipment and controls cabinets b. Existing Lower Wellfield Pumping Station: I) Electrical controls and equipment cabinets 2) Wall mounted electrical equipment 3) Bulk liquid chemical storage tanks 4) Compressor and air tanks 5) Pumps and associated motors 6) Process Piping 7) HVAC equipment 8) Miscellaneous furniture c. Existing I-Ipper Wellfield Pumping Station: I) Electrical controls and equipment cabinets 2) Pumps and associated motors 3) Process piping 4) Compressor and air tanks d. Data regarding the hazardous material field testing conducted for building denoltion Work are included in Appendix C. 3. Cleaning and inspecting of approximately 2,000 LF of existing 12-inch ductile-iron water main in the UWF driveway. 4. Rehabilitation of the Supply Pond and canal, including sediment removal, handling and disposal and rehabilitation of the Intake Structure. Data regarding material field testing conducted for the Supply Pond are included in Appendix D. 5. Extension of the Bristol, CT water and sewer systems with installation of ductile-iron water main and PVC sewer main in Mix Street and Maltby Street. 6. Cleaning, television inspection, and performing cured-in-place pipe lining of approximately 540 linear feet of 18" and 20" sanitary sewer of varying material in Mix Street. The requirement for Minority and Women's Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) subcontracting participation, expressed as a percentage of the total contract amount, shall be a minimum of 8.0% with the following makeup: MBE 3.0% WBE 5.0%. Failure to meet or exceed the required percentage may render a bid non-responsive and may cause the rejection of the bid Project duration: Milestone No. 1: Contractor shall agree to complete installation of all wells with initial well test pumps, the Pond Pumping Station, and Site work required for access to and utilization of the new facilities within 910 days of Notice to Proceed - $5,000 / day o Milestone No. 2: Contractor shall agree to complete all work including installation of final well pumps, final demolition, final paving and site restoration within 1,100 days of Notice to Proceed. - $5,000 / day Addendum #1-#5 have been issued as of 9-25-2025.
