Site work for a water / sewer project in Sheridan, Wyoming. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Sheridan County Public Works (SCPW) is soliciting proposals for engineering services for a river stabilization and restoration project to be completed in 2025/2026. This project is located ~ 5 miles north of the City of Sheridan, Sheridan County, WY and will be administered by Sheridan County and the Sheridan County Conservation District. The project consists of repairing approximately 1/4 mile of the Tongue River downstream of the Kleenburn ponds, upstream of the Acme Road bridge, and adjacent to Kleenburn Road. The State of Wyoming has identified this and downstream segments of Tongue River as impaired for bacteria and/or temperature, both of which can be affected by in-stream sediment. Bank erosion and channel instability are also believed to contribute to downstream channel degradation and sediment concerns. The site has ~5'-8' vertical banks on outside bends. In addition to posing habitat, water quality, and other concerns, continued erosion will eventually threaten the Kleenburn Road. Scope of work includes damaged streambanks, repairing headcuts, and stabilizing the streambank/channel to protect the streambanks from future damage using natural streambank/channel design practices.
