The City of Pasadena is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide construction services for the Path Two Cable Replacement Project. The scope of work includes removal of existing underground 35kV subtransmission cable and installation of new City-furnished 1250 KCMIL Triplex cable within existing conduit systems. Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) delivers electricity to over 65,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers within the City of Pasadena. As a critical infrastructure provider, PWP is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and resilient electric service through continuous system maintenance and upgrades. The Path Two Cable Replacement Project is part of PWP's long-term initiative to improve the reliability of its 35kV subtransmission system. Existing underground cables that serve as a key subtransmission route are nearing the end of their useful life and are being replaced to maintain system integrity, support long-term load growth, and reduce the risk of unplanned outages. The City has procured approximately 240,152 feet of 1250 KCMIL Compact Copper, 35kV, 100% Insulation EPR, 1/6 Flat Strap cable. This total includes an allocated contingency quantity. Full delivery of the cable, including the total amount designated for installation, is expected prior to the start of construction. Bidders must provide all required information for the City to verify the bond with their bid. The bond must meet the following requirements and characteristics: Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price in the form of a redeemable or callable electronic surety bond, meeting City requirements, must accompany all bids. If the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall for fifteen (15) calendar days after such award fail or neglect to enter into the contract with the required insurance documentation, submit the Construction & Demolition Waste Management Plan, and file the required bonds, the City may deposit in its treasury said bid security and, under no circumstances, shall it be returned to the defaulting Bidder. Failure to return signed contract with all the attachments stated above may result in having the project awarded to the next lowest bidder.
