The City of Marietta, will receive sealed bids for the materials and labor necessary for the construction of the CDBG Harmar Misc. Brick Neighborhood Revitalization Project. The City of Marietta, may choose to not award the bid--and bidders shall hold bids open--until sixty days after the bid opening. The work for which bids are invited consists of: Portions of sidewalk on Gilman Avenue and Franklin Street will be taken out and replaced with concrete. These portions of sidewalk are currently either brick (some bricks are covered with grass and gravel), sandstone, non-ADA compliant concrete, or other materials. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide the surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experience on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed by Sixty Calendar Days after Notice to Proceed. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will: to the extent practicable use products (iron and steel), goods, and materials produced (aggregates, concrete, and lumber) in the United States (CFR 200.322); to extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of their work; make every effort when subcontracts are let, to take affirmative steps to contract with small firms, minority-owned firms, women-owned firms, or labor surplus area firms per (2 CFR 200.321(b)(6)). Payment of Davis-Bacon Act Prevailing Wages are required for this Project. The City of Marietta reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding process, and to enter into a contract with the bidder who, in the City's opinion, offers the lowest and best bid.
