Fy26 Bpd Access Gate Operator Upgrade Rebid Questions Must Be Received by 11am on 1/6/2026 in the Public Q&a Section of the Online Portal in the Correct Project File. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required to Furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond and a Performance Bond Each in the Amount of 100%. 5% Bid Bond Required. Full Compliance With Federal, State and Municipal Wage Laws is Required of All Work Done for the Town of Barnstable. Prevailing Wages Required. Osha Certification Required. Liquidated Damages Required. Contractors Shall Be Required to Comply With All Applicable Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30 S.39m, and Other Applicable Massachusetts General Laws. The Town of Barnstable Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Bids or Waive Any Formalities That Appear to Be in the Best Interest of the Town. The Town of Barnstable is seeking a licensed, qualified Contractor to remove and replace existing vehicular gate operators owned and operated by Barnstable Police Department (BPD). These automated gates are critical in providing secure entry and exit of BPD personnel. The Contractor is tasked with complete removal and replacement of the existing gate operators and its appurtenances including base, rollers, slide rails, and any accessory civil, electrical, controls, or mechanical items. The Town of Barnstable is seeking a licensed, qualified Contractor to remove and replace existing vehicular gate operators located at the Barnstable Police Department (BPD). These automated gates are critical in providing secure entry and exit of BPD personnel. The Contractor is tasked with complete removal and replacement of the existing gate operators and its appurtenances including base, rollers, slide rails, and any accessory civil, electrical, controls or mechanical items. New power service shall be installed per manufacturer's requirements. All existing control wiring must remain; the Contractor shall verify continuity and properly reterminate control wiring per project requirements. Work shall include but not be limited to materials, labor, consumables, submittals, procurement, progress meetings, material offload, disposal, temporary facilities, cleanup, restoration, permitting, system testing/commissioning and coordination with BPD operations for planning and access. Contractor's work cannot impact BPD operations. B. Detailed Description of Work: Below is the detailed scope of construction work for the completion of the Barnstable Police Department motorized gate upgrade project. 1. Install and provide power to (2) new gate operators (HySecurity or equal) including but not limited to civil base, mechanical attachments, rollers, and slide rails. o Contractor shall support BPD security team during programming and functionality testing of the system. o Confirm configuration of the gate operators with control methodology presented. o Remove and return existing gate operators to the Town of Barnstable 2. Install new electrical power from the existing 120/240V, single phase panelboard located in the kennel to the new motor controllers at the gate. o Remove electrical conduit and wire from the existing gate controllers to the existing panelboard. 3. Install open/close gate push button enclosure at an BPD approved location o Install (4) sets of control cables from the remote operator in the dispatch office to the existing DSX door controller. 4. Install (3) new sets of control cables to run along/with the (1) existing set of control cables from the existing DSX door controller to the new gate controllers. 5. Coordinate with HySecurity desired gate functionality: o Gate must open at 3.0ft/s minimum. o Gate operators must be factory set without advanced audio warning delay to facilitate fast open and close of the gates. o Enclosure heaters are required for cold weather operations. 6. Coordinate with BPD on desired DSX gate controller functionality: o Remote open/close of entry gate o Remote open/close of exit gate o Contractor shall confirm existing unit inputs and outputs can be used in the proposed configuration. 7. Place a new handhole to gather all existing loop detector cables o Re-install existing loop detector cables in rigid PVC conduit buried at minimum depth to prevent damage. o If necessary, remove the existing loop detector cables and install new. o Restoration of the driveway as needed
