10.4% combined MBE/WBE for this project The work includes, not limited to, furnishing all necessary labor, materials and equipment required to perform various roadway improvements on several streets located in the Town of Barnstable, MA, as specified. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION or PAVEMENT SURFACING, for the project with an estimated value of $3,460,948.00 is required. Prequalified or officially waived Contractors may submit bids. The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, furnishing all necessary labor, materials and equipment required to perform various roadway improvements on several streets located in the Town of Barnstable, MA. The reclaim improvements of 3 roads (Asa Meigs Road, Old Mill Road and School Street) include excavation and disposal of existing roadway materials; reconstruction; furnishing, fine grading and compacting sub-base materials; installing hot mix asphalt base (2 1/2 ') and top courses (1 1/2 '). The work also requires site preparation, repair and adjustment of utility structure castings and gate boxes, street sweeping, application of asphalt tack coat, construction-related safety signage, minor restoration work, and all other related activities whatsoever required to complete the roadway improvements as specified herein and as directed by the Engineer. The contract also includes the milling and overlaying of the remaining eight roads. The mill and overlay will include performing site preparation as needed, mill 1-1/2" of the existing pavement, install leveling course hot mix asphalt as needed, adjust drainage structure castings and/or gate boxes to final elevation of roadway surface as needed, apply tack coat and overlay with 1-1/2" of hot mix asphalt.
