The Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center is a 100,000 sq. ft. facility, built in 1975, and owned by the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA). The Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center provides 100-250 meals per day and the need is increasing. In 2021, $300,000 of funding was approved with the passing of Proposition 2 for various facility improvements (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), septic, landscaping, and design work for expansion). Capital Improvement Projects for Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center, total of $14,000,000: 2028: $14,000,000 Chugiak Eagle River Senior Center has a waiting list of 40 - 50 people consistently for independent housing. This will build 20 additional apartments; this phase has been estimated to be $14M. As of Aug 29, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
