This contract involves architect-engineering (A-E) design services to expand the electrical capacity at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center. The campus comprises 22 buildings totaling 321,557 gross square feet. The project includes remodeling and expanding existing northern electrical rooms (1634-1 and 1635-1) by 800 square feet to support future expansions, and constructing a new electrical room on the eastern side to support temporary facilities for displaced employees. The electrical system must meet minimum requirements of three-phase, 208V, 800A, and include normal, critical, life safety, and emergency power circuits. The design must comply with all applicable VA standards, NEC codes, and other relevant building and safety regulations. The A-E will be responsible for all electrical, architectural, and mechanical design work, including testing, commissioning, and coordination with VA staff. Investigative services such as site inspections, interviews with medical center staff, and preliminary cost estimates are required. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
