Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Wilmington, Delaware. Completed plans call for site work for a 256,640-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

The work to be done under these specifications is to cover the completed work shown on the plans or called for in the specifications and other contract documents. The Contractor shall furnish all implements, machinery, tools, equipment, materials, and labor necessary to the performance of the work and shall furnish and do everything necessary to make the work perfect, complete, neat, and finished, and the Contractor shall leave all the work to be done under this contract in this condition at the time the work is finally inspected. The Canby Park renovation scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of existing buildings and utility infrastructure, vehicular and pedestrian paving systems, and disposal of trees, playground structures, and safety surfacing. Improvements include, but not limited to, procurement and installation of new utility infrastructure improvements including storm sewer drainage, water service, and electrical and lighting upgrades. Installation of owner pre-purchased play equipment and benches, furnish and installation of safety surfacing, and new plantings and lawns. Question Deadline 09/25/2025 Questions Must be submitted to procurement@wilmingtonde.gov and will not be accepted within 1 week of the bid opening. Canby Park Improvements PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. Work of one prime Contract comprises this Project. B. The Project includes but is not limited to the following improvements for Canby Park: 1. Coordinate with the City of Wilmington for a Pre-Construction Meeting on-site prior to start of work. 2. Install erosion and sediment controls, and coordinate with site inspector for review and approval to proceed. 3. Install and maintain a 6-feet high construction fence as outlined in project documents. The park will remain open during construction. Contractor shall take necessary precautions to maintain public safety and access. 4. Provide demolition and disposal of existing designated site features including paving, concrete, buildings, retaining walls, fencing, playgrounds, piping, lighting, edging systems, planting beds and existing plantings as outlined in project documents. 5. Provide protection for existing site features to remain as shown on the drawings. 6. Contractor to have a copy of the contract documents (specifications and drawings) on site during the construction period. 7. Remove existing paving and concrete as shown on the plans. 8. Remove existing playground equipment as shown on the plans. 9. Remove existing buildings and sheds as shown on the plans. 10. Remove existing light poles as shown on the plans. 11. Remove existing trees as shown on the plans. 12. Remove existing fencing and gate as shown on the drawings. 13. Remove existing retaining walls as shown on the plans. 14. Provide required fill material as needed and perform grading in accordance with the plans. 15. Refer to DNREC's Material Management Plan (CMMP) and Heath and Saftey Plan (HASP). 16. Install all utilities, including storm sewers, drainage pipes, catch basins, manholes, waterlines, electric, etc in accordance with the plans and City of Wilmington requirements/inspections. Demo and abandon existing piping in place as shown on the drawings.17. Install new curb, asphalt and concrete paving as shown on the drawings. 18. Install stormwater management facilities in accordance with the approved post construction stormwater management plans. 19. Install new concrete bench pads as shown on the drawings. 20. Install new fencing as shown on the drawings. 21. Furnish and install new playground safety surfacing and curbing concrete as shown on the drawings. 22. Install new playground equipment as shown on the drawings. City to procure new play equipment. 23. Install new site benches and picnic tables as shown on the drawings. City to procure new furnishings. 24. Install new plantings as shown on the drawings. 25. Seed areas of lawn as shown on the drawings. 26. Maintain and water new lawn areas for 60 days after final acceptance. 27. Maintain erosion and sediment controls throughout the life of the project. Remove erosion and sediment controls once the site is adequately stabilized to the satisfaction of the certified construction reviewer and/or City inspector.
