The City of Independence reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the City. For this project, bids will ONLY be received electronically. Contractors submitting an electronic bid will be charged an additional $42 at the time of bid submission via the online electronic bid service. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Only The Work will be substantially completed on or before October 24, 2025, Final completion- October 31, 2025. 1. Base Bid: a. Replacement of deteriorated sidewalk, curb and gutter, and asphaltic pavement within the limits of the Block 1 Alley in the City of Independence, WI. 2. Bid Alternate: a. Substitution of concrete pavement in lieu of asphaltic pavement. If selected by the Onwer, respective items will be removed from the Base Bid, and substituted with items listed in the Bid Alternate. Differences in quantities of certain items reflect the change in total pavement cross section depth.
