Questions must be submitted no later than September 4, 2025. removal of Marley Cooling Tower. 2. Existing shared piping system with BAC tower: Must be capped and properly supported. Isolation and termination points to be coordinated with RVC staff. 3. Marley tower is asbestos-free (previously abated). 4. Structural steel framework to remain in place. B. Access and Safety Maintain safe, code-compliant platform access to BAC tower during and after demolition 2. Contractor must provide a cost-effective, code-compliant solution for platform C. Access Options (to be specified in bid Option 1: Install new railing on existing platform from roofto BAC tower. Option 2: Design and install a new, shorter platform providing direct access from BAC tower to: Power plant roof, or Ground level. All options must include code-compliant stairs from platform to roof. D. Disposal All demolished equipment, piping, and related materials must be: Removed from site b) Properly disposed of off-site. II. Engine Generator #8 Stack, Silencer, and Air Inlet Removal A. Scope 1. Unit 8 is decommissioned. 2. Remove:Exterior stack. Silencer.c) Air inlet. 3. Disconnection point: At building envelope line. 4. Seal remaining intake and exhaust openings with solid plate to prevent: Weather intrusion. Animal intrusion. Project Deliverables A. Submit construction plan including: Rigging logistics. Laydown logistics. Site access: Driveway east of Unit 7 (Maple Avenue). 2. Limited access to driveway and parking area east of power plant and south of Administrative Building. Laydown areas: 1. Must be approved by RVC prior to demolition. Site maintenance: 1. Daily cleanup required. 2. No debris allowed on ground, roof, or inside power plant. 3. Egress paths must remain clear. E. Dumpster/dump truck management: 1. Must be removed daily or secured overnight. Schedule and Submittals Detailed description of means and methods. List of equipment and trucks to be used. To be submitted and approved post-award, Demolition schedule: pre-demolition Required for both cooling tower and engine stack. Completion deadline: Start date to be approved by RVC Electric 2. All demolition activities must be completed by February 1, 2026. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, bank check or bid bond payable to the Incorporated Village of Rockville Centre in the amount of five (5%) percent of the gross amount of the bid. Award of Contract will be made to the lowest responsible bidder in accordance with applicable provisions of the law. The Village reserves the right to split awards between multiple bidders or reject all bids.
