Demolition of City-owned Property Located at 801-809 Main Street, Evanston, IL 60202 Project has been cancelled The City of Evanston seeks bids for the demolition and site restoration of 801-809 Main Street, requiring full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, prevailing wage, and necessary permits (City, MWRD if applicable). Work includes coordinating water/sewer disconnections, rodent abatement at least 14 days prior, and installation of temporary perimeter fencing. The contractor will demolish all structures, including the basement, properly haul and dispose of debris, and meet Cook County, MWRD, Illinois EPA, and OSHA requirements. The site must be backfilled with clean fill, graded to surrounding elevations, topped with at least 4 inches of topsoil, and seeded (weather permitting) with season-appropriate grass. A separate line item for asbestos abatement must be provided, with pricing based on standard costs for similar projects. Bids must include a lump sum for demolition and restoration, a separate asbestos cost, project timeline, relevant municipal demolition experience, proof of insurance and bonding, and at least three client references.
