RRFB Installation - Southborough, MA. Project consists of reconstructing existing curb ramps and sidewalk, crosswalk and stop line pavement markings, and installation of solar-powered RRFBs at four locations. The project sites are open to the public, located at: 1. Richards Road at Moulton Road (Southborough, MA), 2. Main Street (Route 30) at Fay School (Southborough, MA), 3. Cordaville Road (Route 85) at Woodward School (Southborough, MA), and 4. Main Street (Route 30) West of CSX Railroad (Southborough, MA). The proposed work consists of constructing pedestrian crossing improvements at four (4) locations within the Town of Southborough. See the list below. The work under this Contract consists of reconstructing existing pedestrian curb ramps and sidewalk (at select locations), crosswalk and stop line pavement markings, and installation of solar-powered Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB). Some of the RRFB equipment will be procured in advance by the Town and installed by the Contractor as part of the Work under this Contract. Crossing Locations: Location 1: Richards Road at Moulton Road Location 2: Main Street (Route 30) at Fay School Location 3: Cordaville Road (Route 85) at Woodward School Location 4: Main Street (Route 30) West of CSX Railroad This Contract shall be fully performed by the Contractor in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents within 90 days of receiving delivery of the RRFBs from MassDOT, unless extended, in writing, at the sole discretion of the Town, and not subject to assent by the Contractor, and subject to the availability and appropriation of funds as certified by the Town Accountant. MassDOT estimates the expected delivery of the RRFBs to be mid-November, and as such, final completion of all Work is expected by February 28th, 2026. Time is of the essence for the completion of the Contract. The Work shall consist of the above plus all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications and conceptual plans attached hereto. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Architect/Engineer and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. Contractors shall be pre-qualified with MassDOT for Highway-Sidewalk and Curbing in order to bid on this project.
