Renovation of a water / sewer project in Southborough, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Perform routine maintenance on two of the Towns Potable water storage tanks. Install vent screens, gasketing hatches and locks on access hatches. Contractor must be qualified and have worked on municipal potable water storage tanks. (1) Oak Hill Road Tank, near 66 Oak Hill Road, Southborough, MA, 75H x 25D (275,000 gallon) riveted steel water storage tank. https://tinyurl.com/OakHillTank a. Install one (1) lock on the roof hatches in accordance with 310 CMR 22.04(7) & Guidelines, Chapter 8.1.4. The roof hatches were not secured to prevent unauthorized access. b. Install one (1) gasket on the tank hatches in accordance with 310 CMR 22.04(7) & Guidelines Chapter 8.1.8.2 & Guidelines Chapter 8.1.8.1. The manholes leading to the hatches did not have gaskets. (2) Tara Road Tank, 12 Tara Road, Southborough, MA, 48H x 68D (1,300,000 gallon) riveted steel water storage tank. https://tinyurl.com/TaraTank a. Install one (1) 24-mesh non-corrodible screen on the tank vent in accordance with 310 CMR 22.19(2) & Chapter 8.1.10. Vents must open downward and be screened with 24-mesh non-corrodible screen installed within the pipe at a location least susceptible to vandalism. b. Install four (4) gaskets on the tank hatches in accordance with 310 CMR 22.04(7) & Guidelines Chapter 8.1.8.2 & Guidelines Chapter 8.1.8.1. The manholes leading to the hatches did not have gaskets.
