The Parkerville Road Landfill, located between 55 and 57 Parkerville Road in the Town of Southborough, MA (See Figure 1) is subject to landfill gas monitoring requirements. During a recent landfill inspection, several existing perimeter soil gas sampling points along the eastern and northern portions of the landfill were found to be missing, inaccessible, or damaged due to environmental exposure. The purpose of this project is to restore adequate perimeter soil gas monitoring coverage in advance of the next scheduled landfill inspection in April 2026. The Contractorshall furnish and install four (4) new perimeter soil gas probes at locations designated by the Town or its Engineer along the eastern and northern landfill perimeter. Figure 2 contains a site plan showing the approximate location of the proposed Soil Gas Probes. Particular care shall be taken to not place probes within the horizontal extent of the capped landfill. Figure 3 contains a detail of the proposed Gas Probe Construction. The probes shall be installed flush with finished grade, equipped with protective caps to mitigate weather impacts, and constructed with ferrous materials to allow future detection using a ferromagnetic locator in the event probes become buried or covered. The Contractor shall provide all labor, machinery, and equipment necessary to complete all work required for the completion of this project. The estimated value of this project is $12,000.00. Furnish and install four new perimeter soil gas probes at locations along the eastern and northern landfill perimeter.
