Renovation of a mixed-use development in Arroyo Grande, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; municipal facility; fire / police facility; and playground / park / athletic field.
**As of October 16, 2025, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** The City of Arroyo Grande is seeking bids for roof repairs at seven (7) of its City facilities including: City Hall, City Council Chambers, Ash St. Restroom, Fire Department, Police Department, Women's Club, Old City Hall. Contract time is established as 60 working days. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or Bid Bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Arroyo Grande as bid security. The bid security shall be provided as a guarantee that within ten (10) working days after the City provides the successful bidder the Notice of Award, the successful Bidder will enter into a contract and provide the necessary bonds and certificates of insurance. The bid security will be declared forfeited if the successful Bidder fails to comply within said time. No interest will be paid on funds deposited with City. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Each bond shall be in the forms set forth herein, shall be secured from a surety company that meets all State of California bonding requirements, as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and that is a California admitted surety insurer. The City specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1773, City has obtained the prevailing rate of per diem wages and the prevailing wage rate for holiday and overtime work applicable in San Luis Obispo County from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute this contract. The scope of work of this contract is for repairs at the following locations in ArroyoGrande: Current City Hall at 300 E. Branch Street Remove debris from existing roof. Install pitch break metal between patio and comp shingles. Install foam closure as needed. City Council Chambers at 215 E. Branch Street Remove the existing roof Clean up and haul away all debris Mechanically fasten 1/2 HDFR board for Class "A" fire rating Mechanically fasten 60 mil TPO Membrane roof system over entire roof, heat welding all seams Install new drain Install new coping metal Elm Street Restroom at 1467 Ash Street Remove existing comp. shingles (1 layer), clean up and haul away debris. Replace (20 ft.) of damaged facia. Replace (10) sheets of damaged plywood. Underlayment: Nail down 1 layer of Diamond Deck Synthetic paper. Install 1 1/2 x 2 painted metal drip edge. Install new pipe flashing, paint to match shingles. Laminated Composition shingles (Color to be chosen by City.) High profile trim used on all ridge points. Install new ridge vent. Fasteners: Corrosion resistant nails. Fire Department at 140 Traffic Way Remove debris from existing roof. Reseal plumbing vents as needed Apply mastic and webbing at damaged cap sheets areas as needed. Apply caulking at coping metal as needed. Reset coping and flash as needed. Install TPO strips over mastic patches. Clean up and haul away debris. Women's Club at 211 Vernon Street Install new step shingles at AC unit. Re-caulk plumbing vent collars, paint flashings. Clean out gutter debris. Clean up and haul away debris. Old City Hall at 214 E. Branch Street Remove existing roof (1 layer), clean up and haul away debris. Remove and replace coping metal Mechanically fasten 60 mil TPO Membrane roof system over entire roof, heat welding all seams Install new scuppers
