The City of San Diego (City) is building a new North City Pure Water Facility (Pure Water Facility), located at 4940 Eastgate Mall, San Diego, CA 92121. The Pure Water Facility will provide an additional source of water to the area through potable reuse. The Pure Water Facility's Operations Building and Process Facility will include educational exhibits, displays, and signage, which collectively, shall be referred to as the Pure Water San Diego Discovery Center (Discovery Center or Center). The City seeks proposals for design, fabrication, and installation services for the exhibits, displays, and signage at the Discovery Center. The Discovery Center, through its modern design, interactive exhibits, process facility tours, and programming, will educate visitors about the advanced water purification process, define the Pure Water recycling concept, share historical highlights of the City's water treatment system, and encourage public cooperation in protection of water as a precious resource. The Discovery Center will also be a science education resource and field trip destination for area schools. Respondents to this RFP, herein referred to as "Vendor," must be able to provide a full range of professional exhibit design, fabrication, and other specialty services to design, fabricate and install the signage, exhibits, and all other components required to create a cohesive experience.
