The City of Batavia Elec tric Util ity will receivesealed bids for the construc tion, includ ing any necessary labor and mate ri als needed to construct the MainSubsta tion Upgrade. The work for which bids arebeing received gener ally and briefly consists of thefollow ing: o Removal of four 34.5 kV line circuit breakers, acircuit switcher, four PTs, several bus structures, ameter ing build ing, and a number of foun dations. o Instal la tion of four (4) 34.5 kV line reclosers, a bustie and a trans former main reclosers, two (2) sets ofbus PTs and switch struc tures. o The instal la tion of a 34.5 kV bus differential relaypanel, wiring and other miscel la neous work associated. o Instal la tion of two (2) 34.5 kV pad mount switchgear. The substa tion is located at 130 Shumway Avenue,Batavia, IL 60510, and is the loca tion where theconstruc tion is to take place. 4. All work shall be in accor dance with the specifications as set forth in the Contract Docu ments, plans andother State and Local regu la tions as applic able. 5. The proposal from the Contrac tor shall consist ofthe submis sion of the completed Contract Documentsand supple men tal adden dums as received from theOwner. The bid shall be made on the BID PROPOSAL,BID SCHED ULE, BID CONDI TIONS, AND BIDFORM provided as part of these Bidding Documentsand shall be accom pa nied by a bid guar antee in theform of a Certi fied or Cashier's check from a responsible solvent bank or Bid Bond made payable to the Cityof Batavia in the amount of five percent (5%) of thebid amount. The amount of the bid guar antee shall beforfeited to the Owner if the Bidder neglects or refusesto enter into a Contract or to furnish performancesecu rity after the bid has been accepted. 6. The Contrac tor shall provide a writ ten statement aspart of the Bid submit tal of veri fy ing their ability tocommence work on the project within the time specified in the Contract Docu ments. The Owner reserves the right to deferthe accep tance of any bid and the award of a Contractfor a period not exceed ing sixty (60) days after thedate of open ing the bids. The success ful Bidder to whom the Contract shall beawarded shall sign the Contract, furnish a Performance Bond, or Letter of Credit in amounts equal toone hundred ten percent (110%) of the ContractAmount and required Certifi cates of Insur ance, withinfifteen (15) calen dar days after the Contract has beenawarded. Fail ure to do so shall make the Contract nulland void. 9.
