This project includes the manual brushing of approximately 39 hectares and up to 50 person days of 'day rate' brushing within BC Timber Sales' Arrow South Field Unit. Treatment units are spread across the field unit and are generally within 100 km of Castlegar BC. Manual brushing includes cutting all competing vegetation within a 1.25m cylinder around crop trees in accordance with the contract treatment specifications. All blocks have 2026 seedlings (height-20cm) combined with previous years (>20cm) and will need to be brushed in mid July. Timing is critical as this is a combination of survival and hardwood brushing. All specific information regarding crop trees species, heights, target vegetation and other important information is included in the Appendix I - 2026 Brushing Treatment Ledger.
