Installation of Four-board Horse Fencing The specifications are as follows: 4-Board Horse Fence Bridge Guardrail General Notes 32 CITY OF ERLANGER BID SPECIFICATIONS 1. Install approximately 128 LF of 4-board horse fence in dirt and 570 LF in asphalt, painted black. 2. Posts are to be 7" to 8" round non faced, spaced approximately 8' apart. 3. Rails are to be 1" X 6" treated rough cut poplar. 4. Face and end cap boards shall be flush with the top rail and 44" long. 5. Must use outdoor #9x3" screws to fasten rails to post. 6. Top of top rail is to be 51 " above grade. 7. Posts are to be cut at a 45 degree angle from the top of the top rail. 8. Spacing between rails shall be 6". 9. All fencing is to be painted black using Cabot Solid Stain Paint (The City will provide the code). 1. Install approximately 190 LF of rail above existing guardrail on 2 bridges. 2. The I beam supports are to be determined by the contractor. 3. The lower rail is to be a treated 3"x6" board. 4. The top rail is to be a treated 3"x10" board. 5. The height of the top of the top rail shall equal the fence at 51 ". 6. The rails are to be painted black by the same paint as the fence. 7. The existing guardrail and supports are to be painted black using a paint for metal that matches the fence, determined by the contractor. If any person contemplating the submission of a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the bid packet, specifications, plans (if applicable) or other proposed contract documents, they should submit a written request for an interpretation thereof to Joe Daugherty, City of Erlanger Public Works Department, 505 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, Kentucky. The person making the request shall be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the bid documents will be made by addenda duly issued and mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of such documents. The City will not be responsible for explanations or interpretations of the proposed documents except as issued in accordance herewith.
