PROJECT NAME: PALM BEACH LAKES COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL - FIRE ALARM SYSTEM REPLACEMENT - LOCATION: 3505 SHILOH DR., WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33407 Fire Alarm System Replacement and Installation Scope include, but is not limited to: Replace the existing fire alarm system with a new, voice-capable fire alarm system that is fully compliant with the most current editions of the Florida Building Code (FBC), Florida Fire Prevention Code (FFPC), NFPA 72, and all other applicable codes, standards, and specifications referenced in the construction documents. Install additional fire alarm devices in existing rooms and areas as necessary to meet current code requirements and the School District's design and performance standards. Provide all required electrical power connections to support the new fire alarm system, in accordance with applicable codes, equipment manufacturer specifications, and engineering design requirements. Coordinate the demolition and replacement of the fire alarm system with school administration to minimize disruption to ongoing operations. The new system shall be installed and operated in parallel with the existing system during the transition phase to ensure uninterrupted life safety coverage throughout the construction period. Civil, Architectural, Structural and Site Scope include, but is not limited to: Post-Demolition: Remove and dispose of all surface-mounted and embedded conduit, boxes, and related infrastructure associated with the existing fire alarm system as required. Patch, repair, or replace any disturbed architectural, structural, or civil finishes resulting from demolition, including walls, ceilings, floors, sidewalks, pavements, or landscaped areas. During Installation: Trench and backfill where required for underground conduit installations, ensuring proper compaction and restoration of all affected surfaces to match existing conditions. Core drill or cut openings through walls, floors, or slabs as needed for conduit routing, with proper sealing and firestopping in compliance with applicable codes. Maintain all egress paths and site accessibility during construction activities. Post-Replacement: Restore all disturbed interior and exterior areas to pre-construction condition or better, including pavement, flooring, walls, ceilings, and landscaping. Ensure all fire alarm-related civil work is completed in compliance with local jurisdictional requirements and the School District's construction standards. Coordinate with the school's maintenance and facilities personnel for final walk-through and punch list resolution related to civil repairs. The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida invites Certified General Contractors, or Certified Building Contractors, licensed by the State of Florida and prequalified by the School Board to submit Bids. The School Board reserves the right to waive minor technicalities in any Bid.
