Scope of Work The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, materials, transportation and other means necessary for the condition assessment and wood pole inspection and supplemental treatment of Independence Power & Light's (IPL) transmission facilities. The pole inspection includes all poles eight (8) years and older and would include a sound and bore test or approved non destructive alternate. Additional units for excavation and treatment will also be required on a conditional basis. All work will be located in and around the city limits of Independence, Missouri in accordance with the specifications contained herein. IPL's transmission system contains approximately 1,225 poles with 25.2 circuit miles of 161 kV overhead transmission and 49.3 circuit miles of 69 kV overhead transmission. The IPL service area lies within Jackson County. Independence Power & Light (IPL) shall furnish the contractor with shape files designating the pole locations. The shape files were created using AutoCad 2019. An overview of the poles are shown in the overall map provided. Most poles are readily accessible from streets and roads, however, some are located on private property, back lots, etc. and are not readily accessible. A kickoff meeting shall occur to cover any questions on information supplied by IPL, discuss the schedule, and clarify any scope of work coordination prior to the start of work. There will be progress meetings the Owner and Contractor periodically to discuss any aspects of the inspection.
