Renovation of a stadium in Prince George, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.
City of Prince George (the "City") invites bids from qualified contractors who can demonstrate the appropriate experience, knowledge and availability needed with ice arena ammonia refrigeration systems, hydronic, plumbing and HVAC systems for the installation of the major equipment for the Phase 2 - Elksentre Arena Energy Recovery. This project will include the addition of the following for construction in 2026: ECM 1: An ammonia desuperheater for DHW preheat + Zamboni, ECM 2: New snow melt coil to recover heat from the fluid cooler glycol loop and the condenser (installed as per Phase 1 in 2025), ECM 3: Furnace Energy Recovery Coil - outdoor air preheat coil to recover heat from the fluid cooler glycol loop, ECM 4: Dehumidifier heat recovery coil / pipe In conjunction with the mechanical work, there is additional electrical work required for ECM 1, 2 and 3. Projected shutdown of the Elksentre ammonia plant and programming will be in effect from May 18th until June 22nd, 2026. *A final decision for shutdown dates will be confirmed in early 2026.
