Description

Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Prince George, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 7,785-square-foot, two-story above grade clubhouse / community center.

The proposed Wetsuweten Clan House spans 7,785 sq. ft and serves as a versatile, mixed-use facility. It includes residential, communal, and administrative spaces to facilitate the delivery of care by Carrier Sekani Family Services, all while creating a home-like atmosphere that emphasizes comfort and a sense of belonging. The design concept envisions the Clan House as a place of healing, grounded in four key elements: connection to the land, cultural engagement, community participation and living together with family. The selected site spans Lots 4 and 5 at the northwest corner of the Palling 1 reserve on Tom Drive and is approximately 0.7 acres in size. E TIMELINE: Request for proposal for consultant services from Schematic Design to Construction complete and As-Built Drawings, is underway. Carrier Sekani Family services are posting an RFP on behalf of Wetsuweten First Nation. UNISON Architecture conducted a pre-feasibility study aimed at assessing the viability of constructing the Clan House. Further update in late 2025, upon award.
