Replacement of Cooling Tower 1 The University of Florida is seeking qualified contractors to bid on the full replacement of Cooling Tower 1 at the Lacy C. Rabon Chilled Water Plant. This tower is a critical component of the campuss chilled water infrastructure, serving Chiller 1, the plants most vital chiller during peak cooling season. Scope of Work Includes: Complete replacement of the 3-cell Marley Cooling Tower using the existing basin footprint (48L x 418W). Integration with existing piping and Condenser Water Pump 1. Engineering drawings (structural, mechanical, electrical) post-award. Demolition and debris removal, with retention of select components by UF. Installation of new electrical connections, fan motors, disconnects, vibration and safety switches. Mechanical piping, cooling tower fans (metal blades only), gearboxes, fill, drift eliminators, and motor space heaters. Construction of stair access and gangway integration with adjacent towers. Structural evaluations and approvals if access modifications are required. One-year warranty on materials and workmanship. Completion of final punch list as provided by UF.
