Site work and outdoor lighting for a transportation facility in Valdosta, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for outdoor lighting for a transportation facility.

The scope of the project generally includes electrical demolition, installation of new LED lights and signage, and associated electrical improvements for Runway 4-22, at the Valdosta Regional Airport. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid is required. Bidders must submit bids for all Bid Items. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. No bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of proposals for a period of One Hundred Twenty (120) calendar days. Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same. The Base Bid work (RUNWAY 4-22 ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT) is to be substantially completed within a maximum 32 consecutive calendar days from the commencement date specified in the written Notice to Proceed. Administrative and supervisory requirements necessary for coordination of work on the project include but are not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Coordination and meetings. 2. Surveys and records or reports. 3. Limitations on use of site. 4. Special reports. 5. General installation provisions. 6. Cleaning and protection. 7. Conservation and salvage. A. Abbreviations that may be used in the Contract Documents including the drawings are listed in this section and have the identifications and meanings shown herein except where otherwise indicated. B. Symbols are identified on the drawings. C. Related requirements in other parts of the Contract Documents. 1. Drawing symbols: Contract drawings 2. Drawing abbreviations: Contract drawings. A. Contractor shall furnish, install and maintain temporary utilities required for construction and other temporary facilities as indicated; remove on completion of work. B. No construction shall be started until the Engineer's field office is furnished and in good working order, furnished as herein specified, and made available to the Engineer. The office shall be erected at a location designated by the Engineer and shall be separate from any building used by the Contractor. C. Related requirements are specified in other sections of the specifications. This item shall consist of furnishing and installing power cables that are direct buried and furnishing and/or installing power cables within conduit or duct banks per these specifications at the locations shown on the plans. It includes excavation and backfill of trench for direct-buried cables only. Also included are the installation of counterpoise wires, ground wires, ground rods and connections, cable splicing, cable marking, cable testing, and all incidentals necessary to place the cable in operating condition as a completed unit to the satisfaction of the RPR. This item shall not include the installation of duct banks or conduit, trenching and backfilling for duct banks or conduit, or furnishing or installation of cable for FAA owned/operated facilities. This item shall consist of removing existing vault equipment. Included as a separate part under this item or as a separate item where an existing vault is to be used shall be the furnishing of all vault equipment, wiring, electrical buses, cable, conduit, potheads, and grounding systems. This work shall also include the painting of equipment and conduit; the marking and labeling of equipment and the labeling or tagging of wires; the testing of the installation; and the furnishing of all incidentals necessary to place it in operating condition as a completed unit to the satisfaction of the RPR. The Contractor shall remove the existing vault equipment as indicated on the drawings. Any removed materials wanted by the Airport, shall be neatly delivered to an onsite Airport's storage facility as directed by the Airport's Authorized Representative. Any materials not wanted by the Airport shall be disposed of by the Contractor at a site off of airport property. This item shall consist of airport lighting systems furnished and installed in accordance with this specification, the referenced specifications, and the applicable advisory circulars (ACs). The systems shall be installed at the locations and in accordance with the dimensions, design, and details shown in the plans. This item shall include the furnishing of all equipment, materials, services, and incidentals necessary to place the systems in operation as completed units to the satisfaction of the RPR.
