Site work and paving for a civil project in Riverside, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The work includes the furnishing of all labor, material, and equipment necessary or required to complete all work set forth in the Specifications and shown on the Plans of the construction Polk Street and North Fairview Street Flood Mitigation/Drainage Improvements in the Township of Riverside, New Jersey, including but not limited to RCP pipe installation, HDPE sump installation, paved trench repair, full depth pavement, and mill/overlay. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified or Cashier's Check in the amount not less than 10% of the amount bid, but not exceeding $20,000. All bid guarantees shall be accompanied by an executed consent from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish the required Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond upon the award of contract. All bidders and the general public are invited to be present for this bid opening. All bids must be submitted on the prescribed bid forms, providing one (1) original and one (1) copy. The signed Proposal forms and bid security must be delivered to the place on or before the hour named above. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or forfeit his bid security. Bid securities will be returned to all but the three apparent lowest responsible bidders. All other bid securities will be returned after awarding and signing of the contract and approval of the Contractor's Performance Bond. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. (Affirmative Action Law); N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 (Business Registration Act); and N.J.S.A. 34:11- 56.48 et seq. (Public Works Contractor Registration Act). The right is reserved to reject any or all Proposals, in whole or in part, or to make awards to such bidder or bidders, who, in the judgment of Riverside Township makes the most advantageous bid and to waive such informalities as may be permitted by law. A. Base Bid may be awarded. B. The work for this project consists of the following items: BASE BID 1. Variable Depth Milling, and HMA Surface Course paving. 2. Restore disturbed paving areas with HMA Surface Course, Base Course, Dense Graded Aggregate, and flowable fill. 3. Install Concrete sidewalk, curbing, aprons, and swales. 4. Replace handicap ramps as shown on the plans and where directed. 5. Install thermoplastic striping and traffic markers at the locations shown on the plans. 6. Install 18" RCP as shown on plans and where directed. 7. Install 6" HDPE sump and sump laterals as shown on plans and where directed. 8. Instill 6" Duckbill check valve (Tideflex Series 35-1 Flanged Check Valve or approved equal) as shown on plans and where directed. 9. Replace "B" inlet castings with New "ECO" heads and Bicycle-Safe Grate. 10. Install "E" inlet castings with Bicycle-Safe Grate. 11. Restore disturbed vegetated/lawn areas. As a minimum, all lawns shall be restored with topsoil, fertilizer, seed, and mulch. Other materials shall be restored in-kind. 12. Provide all necessary traffic directors and traffic control in accordance with the MUTCD. Riverside Township Police Department must be contacted for any closure. 13. Roadway shall be clean and open to traffic at the end of every day.
