Replacement of high-efficiency stainless steel condensing hot water boilers and ancillary equipment in Buildings 2, 3, and 4 at the Franklin R. Sousley Campus of the Lexington VA Medical Center. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, and materials necessary for the removal of existing boilers and installation of new units, including associated piping, electrical connections, safety devices, and building automation system (BAS) integration. Boilers must be natural gas-fired, fully condensing, fire-tube design, and meet ASME and National Board standards. Installation must comply with VA Directive 1810, Boiler Efficiency Institute Safety Device Testing Manual, and all applicable local, state, and federal codes. The contractor is responsible for demolition of old concrete pads, construction of new pads, and ensuring serviceability and accessibility of installed equipment. All work must be completed without disrupting hot water service for more than four consecutive hours between September 1 and May 1. Tasks include combustion analysis, hydrostatic testing, installation of CO and gas detectors, automatic shutoff valves, and hydraulic separators. Waste disposal must follow all environmental regulations, and documentation including permits, safety data sheets, and training certifications must be provided. Work is to be performed during normal business hours unless otherwise authorized.
