Renovation of a mixed-use development in Sunland Park, New Mexico. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

If an Offeror wishes to visit the sites, they must coordinate with the Construction Department. All Contractors who obtain Bid Documents from Plan Rooms or other sources should contact AKS Architecture and provide an email address so that all Addenda can be sent directly to each company via email. The Gadsden Independent School District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and/or cancel this RFP in its entirety. Proposal Documents may be obtained at AKS Architecture, P.C. upon payment of $ 250.00 for each complete set. CHECKS SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO Gadsden Independent School District. Incomplete sets will not be issued. The successful Offeror will receive refund of his deposit, and any unsuccessful Offeror who returns the Proposal Documents in good and complete condition within fifteen (15) days of the Proposal Opening will also receive refund of this deposit. No deposits will be returned after the fifteen-day period. Remove and replace the existing fire alarm system for the entire school. Removal of the existing system includes, but is not limited to, any and all fire alarm system infrastructure, devices, power supplies, control panels, modules and associated system components. Existing system will be replaced with a new addressable fire alarm/voice evacuation system as scheduled, noted, and shown on the contract documents. In removing the existing fire alarm system for the school, contractor shall remove any and all associated boxes, conduit pathways, and wiring back to the point of source unless noted otherwise. If infrastructure is recessed in the existing walls and is not being utilized for new devices, conduit systems shall be abandoned in place while the rough-in boxes will be removed and the contractor will be required to cut, patch, paint, and repair walls as required to match existing conditions. If associated infrastructure is exposed on wall and not being utilized for new devices, all will be removed in its entirety. At that point, contractor will be required to cut, patch, paint, and repair walls as required to match existing conditions. All existing path of egress entrances/exits for the school shall be provided with pull stations complete with stopper II covers. All existing HVAC units over 2,000 cfm's shall be provided with a smoke duct detector and associated remote test station. All existing classrooms in the school being supplied/served by a gas-fire appliance will be provided with an addressable carbon monoxide detector. If an existing fire sprinkler system is provided for the school, the new fire alarm/voice evacuation system will be connected as required for monitoring the system, along with tamper and flow switches. All existing occupied portables on campus shall be provided with fire alarm/voice evacuation appliances as required by code. Whether or not all fire alarm/voice evacuation appliances are shown and noted in the contract documents and specifications, it is the contractor's responsibility to provide and install a turn - key system throughout the entire campus/school that will comply with the local and state fire marshal's office regulations and standards. All new fire alarm/voice evacuation back-boxes, rough-in, and conduit/pathway systems shall be concealed in walls and above ceilings regardless of its construction. It is the fire alarm/electrical contractor's responsibility to coordinate with the G.C. to cut, patch, paint, and repair existing walls and ceilings affected by the with work required to provide the new fire alarm/voice evacuation system. No surface mounted back-box appliances and/or exposed conduit systems will be permitted unless noted otherwise. Coordination between the G.C., E.C. and the selected fire alarm installer will be mandatory for all interior and exterior FA/VE appliances shown and located on the contract documents. Prior to project completion, all construction features: walls, ceilings, flooring, grid & titles, etc. are to be cleaned and replaced appropriately where new electrical infrastructure and fire alarm system work occurs. Prior to the start of the project, GISD, RBM, G.C., E.C., and selected fire alarm system installer shall perform a walk-thru of the site and note any pre - existing conditions.
