Description

Renovation of a detention facility in Eddyville, Kentucky. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Finance & Administration Cabinet, Division of Engineering & Contract Administration (DECA) is seeking professional design services for the Department of Corrections (DOC) to develop specifications and bid documents as well as contract administration consulting services for the Kentucky State Penitentiary Replace Gates / Controls at Cell Houses 3, 4, 5 & 6. Work includes but is not limited to: o 3 Cell House: 156 cells with sliding gates; 8 sliding walk gates; 16 swinging gates that are currently keyed not electric; 8 control centers and a control center on 15 walk with approximately 12 currently unused cells. The control system is Stewart Decatur. o 4 Cell House: 125 cells with sliding gates; 23 swinging gates with electric locks and 1 control center. The control system is Roanoke Iron & Bridge Works. o 5 Cell House: 364 cells with sliding gates; 4 swinging gates with electric locks; 12 swinging gates that are currently keyed not electric and 4 control centers. The control system is Folger Adams. o 6 Cell House: 189 cells with sliding gates; 18 sliding walk gates; 2 swinging gate electric; 6 swinging doors electric and 1 control center but divided in half due to building design. The control system is Southern Steel.
