AS OF 12/10, PROJECT HAS BEEN AWARDED TO NG BUILDERS Sealed bids for the award of a contract for: Highland Child Development Center Play Yard Site Improvement The Project includes Demolish and dispose of the existing play structure, safety surfacing, and asphalt layer within the designated play area. Work includes installing new play structure, PIP (Poured-in-Place) safety surfacing, and a new drainage system to serve the play area, Apply double layer of seal coating. Additional scope includes furnishing and installing new trees with complete irrigation and drainage systems, as well as preparing the nature space and installing nature play elements such as logs, stumps, and similar features. All work shall comply with standard safety requirements and be coordinated with OUSD. Further details are provided in the specifications. Each bid must conform and be responsive to this notice and all other documents comprising the contract documents. All interested parties may obtain additional information by contacting, Project Manager, April Clement, email: April.clement@ousd.org. All forms must be completed, signed, and returned with the bid. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the receipt of bids. The successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety authorized to conduct business in the State of California approved by the District. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful binder will be required to furnish a Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. This Project is a public works project and is subject to the payment of prevailing wages. The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract that will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are available to the public online or from the District Purchasing Department, upon request. This bid is not subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements. The successful bidder and all subcontractor(s) shall comply with all applicable Labor Code provisions, which include, but are not limited to, the payment of not less than the required prevailing rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract, the employment of apprentices, the hours of labor and the debarment of contractors and subcontractors. Each Bidder submitting a bid must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 ("DIR Registered Contractor"), unless an exception expressly provided in the Labor Code applies. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. If awarded the Contract, at all times during performance of the work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be DIR Registered Contractors and continue to comply with all DIR requirements. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classifications: A-General Engineering and/or B-General Building Contractor. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the California Business and Profession Code at the time the bid is submitted. The Contract Time shall be Seventy-Five (75) calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay shall accrue. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of a bid, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bid or in the bidding process.
